After their massive classic club hit 'Sarajevo' in the 90's, Itlay's Artica return with a bang. Following in the wake of great albums from both Ikon & The House Of Usher maybe thsi album now signals a well overdue renaissance for Gothic Rock.

Black Eyes opens the album with pure Gothic power, the vocals remind me a bit of Burning Gates, Ordeal By Fire ,before the trademark Artica vocals kick in. Plenty of choppy Killing Joke guitars, some echoes of Into The Abyss. This will be massive in Gothic clubs. Sacrificium Starts with the gentle wail of Lucie Cries guitars, then spasms of heavier guitar and vocals to match Carl McCoys circa 'Zoon' before ebbing back into gentle waves of Artica vocals to crash upon one's ear. This has epic written all over it. Plastic Terror has a burning bass hook, that will catch more than its share of ears. Another song which has classic emblazened on it. Also some nice dark forboding keyboard samples. Ocean Again featuring the classic Goth Rock sound of the 90's, in a similiar vein to Corpus Delecti, Lucie Cries and Brotherhood Of Pagans. A golden era recaptured. Engel Surprisingly despite being sung in German/English this is not a Rammstein/ Das Ich cover. Throbbing Bass, subtle keyboards in the vein of Frozen Autumn are joined by jangly guitars to make the hair rise on your neck. Should be an instant hit in Germany, a very polished delivery. The Deserter is another song to illuminate the dancefloor, more memories of Killing Joke / 90's Gothic Rock. Nemesi the onslaught of intense razor sharp Gothic Rock continues to slice into the aural cortex. Fade Away starts a as a gentle Gothic Rock ballad opening with a classical piano composition before splitting from the Gothic Rock energy within. Aggressione is sung totally in Italian and this gives Alberto's vocals an even greater emotional depth, Chop Chop guitars slash through the pounding drums, this is the ultimate Gothic crescendo. I Don't Fit is a Gothic ballad that nestles sweetly in this nest of Gothic Rock golden eggs. Rome Brucia Distorted guitar, the smashing of drums, rabid bass and piercing keyboards, give this strong deathrock appeal this song could kill you on the dancefloor!.

Artica having a charming uniqueness, one can only drool at the prospect of catching them live. It's suggested you have a spare pair of socks in your pocket when you hear this CD as it will blow your socks off! Wow !
